Immigrant Counselling and Psychotherapy (ICAP)
ICAP offer counselling and psychotherapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental place. Trained and experienced professionals help clients to link feelings with patterns of behaviour which affect relationships and work towards making positive changes to move on with their lives. This can help with depression, low self-esteem, bereavement, stress and unhappiness. Counselling is offered in mainly Irish and English, however they do have one French speaker available. Residents from anywhere in the UK are accepted and free service is provided for survivors. Low cost counselling on a sliding scale depending on financial circumstance available for those within the Irish community. Non-Irish people are also accepted at a minimum charge of £30, however spaces are very limited. Clients are contacted within 1-2 weeks and they aim to assess everyone within a month.
Counselling service based in Hammersmith offered to people of all communities and residents of all boroughs. Counselling available in Mandarin, Cantonese, English and Korean. Clients receive a free assessment and require contribution for each session depending on income/ financial circumstance. They have suggested contribution amounts, but this is possible to negotiate, if needed. No-one is refused counseling for lack of money.

The Maya Centre is a small charity, providing a free counselling service in Islington for women (18+, and they only work with disadvantage low income or receive means tested benefits like jobs seekers allowance, PIP income—if patient is working their income needs to be equivalent to benefit level). Maya Centre sees women who have experienced mental health issues, Trauma, Gender based violence, including domestic violence, physical abuse or childhood sexual abuse and harmful traditional practices. Counsellors are all female and are qualified, skilled and experienced. They offer 1:1 counselling and group workshops. They accept Camden residents, and offers services in Turkish, Polish, German Bengali, Albanian, Farsi, Kurdish-Sorani, Mandarin Chinese/Cantonese
Solace provides free and confidential advice, support and a range of therapeutic interventions for women, children and men in Camden affected by abuse. Offers all their services in a range of languages (Somali, Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, Turkish, Greek, Polish, Gujarati, Bengali, Punjabi and Urdu).
Partnership project with IMECE. Offer counselling to support women from Turkish, Kurdish and Turkish Cypriot backgrounds experiencing any forms of violence. Women from these backgrounds are prioritised, but anyone of other backgrounds at risk are also considered. Services are offered to residents of Camden and service users are charged very little for the services. Counselling is offered in Turkish, Kurdish , any other Turkish language and English. Waitlist is 4-5 months. They have no group interventions at the moment and practical support is provided which is dependent on clients circumstance. If they are unable to help, clients are advised alternative options or referred to a service that can support.
Support people who would normally not seek help through counselling. Clients from every section of society are welcomed (LGBTQ+, minority ethnic, different cultures, religious groups and older people). Bereavement counselling: pre-bereavement counselling, bereavement group counselling, men’s bereavement counselling and loss counselling may be free with those with Camden and Islington Gp’s.
